One Open Sky wanted a fundamental transformation of their IT architecture. With a skilled and technically strong team, One Open Sky had high ambitions to build an entirely new digital ERP foundation with an associated webshop, PIM, and POS solution. In this connection, they sought a new strategic IT advisory partner to realise their vision. They chose Corpital.

From insight to action
The partnership between Corpital and One Open Sky was initiated with a "Show me your System" day at One Open Sky's head office in Herning. Here, Corpital gained a deep insight into One Open Sky's current systems and processes, as well as their future visions.
Based on the high level of technical insight and in-house competencies, we were also able to dive deep into a number of architectural discussions and stress-test a range of scenarios during the "Show me your system" day.
Subsequently, Corpital prepared a concrete proposal for action points to ensure the realisation of the defined objectives.
Corpital’s Core Kits – The shortcut to a fast Business Central launch
To kickstart One Open Sky's new digital foundation, Corpital set up a clean Business Central Public Cloud environment.
To accelerate the implementation process and reduce consulting hours, Corpital’s Core Kit was installed. The kit includes a generic chart of accounts approved by three independent auditing firms, along with a range of other essential baseline configurations. It serves as a robust starting point, making it far easier to discuss and adapt the system to specific configuration needs.
Additionally, we immediately implemented the “Corpital BC Booster - Documents+”. This is a modern, generic suite of essential business documents that replaces the standard templates available in Business Central out of the box. By choosing Documents+, One Open Sky avoided the need to develop and customise these standard reports from scratch, ensuring a significantly more cost-effective launch and faster time-to-value.
With a solid foundation now in place in Business Central, the next step was to focus on the remaining configuration and the critical integrations that are absolutely vital to One Open Sky's daily operations.
Integration Architecture – The key to a complex puzzle
At a high level, an entirely new architecture for the ERP, POS, PIM, and Webshop had to be discussed and meticulously planned. It is a complex puzzle where success depends on clear answers to key questions, such as:
- Where is the primary data source?
- Which data should be used in which system?
- Where should data be maintained and enriched?
- What do the mutual interdependencies look like?
- What impact do individual system processes have on the overall architecture?
- How do we ensure data availability at the right time?
- Which special scenarios need to be supported?
These questions rarely have a single answer, as there are often complex interdependencies and prerequisites that do not necessarily align.
Nevertheless, the task was manageable. In close collaboration with the other vendors, all parties understood from the outset that none of us knew the definitive path to the finish line. Instead, we chose an agile and iterative approach to solving the tasks.
We worked our way through the process using frequent prototyping and testing, based on the shared recognition that we would gain deeper insights along the way. Because of this, we were never "afraid" to re-evaluate and alter fundamental principles – even if it meant that some work had to be completely rethought.
"Although such an approach might sound expensive in theory, reality showed that it was necessary to create the right technological foundation. The alternative was to overthink things to death without ever reaching the finish line," says Frederik Kühl, Director.”
To optimise the management of product data and ensure consistent information across all systems and sales channels, Plytix was chosen as the Product Information Management (PIM) system.
Plytix’s strength lies in importing various product data formats from suppliers, as well as the subsequent processing and standardisation of these to match One Open Sky's requirements.
Plytix already integrates out of the box with Shopify. The integration to Business Central was built on Microsoft’s standard API, which Corpital customised to meet One Open Sky's specific needs. In this way, One Open Sky has streamlined the process of importing and updating product information and images, significantly reducing manual workloads.
Item master data from Plytix is further enriched in Business Central, particularly regarding the preferred pricing and discount structure.
Standard Business Central Master Data Management and Intercompany functionality have been configured and tailored to the desired workflows. This ensures that item data, prices, and other key details are seamlessly updated across all companies while reducing manual processes.
Integrations with Plytix, Business Central, and Customers 1st have been configured so that data flows seamlessly across all systems and only needs to be maintained in one single place. Furthermore, this architecture ensures full omnichannel capabilities, allowing customers to use gift cards interchangeably across both the webshops and the physical stores.
For the two physical stores in Herning and Copenhagen, the existing POS solution was replaced with Customers 1st POS. The integration runs in real time via Corpital’s product, “OneLink 365 for Customers 1st”, which synchronises items, variants, stock levels, and customers, as well as gift cards and credit notes. Furthermore, all receipts and daily closings are automatically transferred and posted in Business Central.
One Open Sky uses lagersystem.dk for their warehouse operations. Corpital assisted with configuring the integration to Business Central.
One Open Sky’s finance department benefits greatly from the implementation of Continia’s solutions: Document Capture, Banking, and Document Output.
Combined, these solutions save the finance team valuable time and resources while minimising manual tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic financial activities.
Digital game-changer
The transition to a new Business Central solution, powered by Corpital’s Core Kit and tailored integrations, has been a game-changer for One Open Sky. They have been moved to a modern platform that is continuously updated, providing a digital foundation that eliminates duplicate work and minimises the risk of errors. The solution is fully integrated and delivers unique business value.
"The key to achieving our ambitions so effectively has been Corpital’s advisory support and deep understanding of our business, combined with their accessibility," concludes Frederik Kühl, Director.”
