Since 1910, the Odense-based jeweler and goldsmith C. Antonsen has provided exclusive, top-quality jewelry.

Today, the historic family business is run by the fourth generation, continuing to combine proud craftsmanship traditions in their own workshop with international expertise in diamonds.

Modernisering af en historisk familievirksomhed

C. Antonsen is synonymous with proud craftsmanship traditions and the art of fine jewelry. The company is built on a strong foundation of authenticity and local heritage, which is now being carried forward within a modern business context.

As part of this modernization, C. Antonsen has undergone an extensive renovation of its physical premises in Odense over the past few years—and, in parallel, its digital infrastructure has received a corresponding upgrade.

Integration between Business Central and the store's POS solution

As part of the modernization process, C. Antonsen upgraded its ERP solution to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to strengthen financial and inventory management. However, to derive the full benefit from the new system, a bridge to daily store operations was needed.

Consequently, around the time of the system's go-live, a dialogue began between Corpital and Else-Marie Schjerning, the owner of C. Antonsen. She was keen to integrate Business Central with their POS solution from Customers 1st to ensure that valuable data did not end up in isolated silos.

Plug-and-play integration

Corpital was selected as the partner because the standard OneLink 365 for Customers 1st integration met all the business's needs. Corpital has developed a range of plug-and-play modules, meaning C. Antonsen pays only for the functionality the business actually requires in its day-to-day operations.

In addition to the basic integration, C. Antonsen also chose to implement a specific add-on module for serial number management. This ensures full traceability of specific serial numbers, extending from the sale in the POS system directly into the ERP system. This feature is invaluable for an exclusive jewelry store that deals daily with unique, high-value items and gemstones.

Seamless handling of gold purchases directly at the checkout

To make it as easy as possible for the store to accept used gold from customers, Corpital has also developed an intelligent solution for the POS system that handles the process—regardless of whether the customer wants to exchange gold for new jewelry or simply sell it:

  • When the customer makes a new purchase: The gold is weighed and recorded directly on the receipt, with its value automatically deducted as a specific form of payment.
  • When the customer wishes only to sell gold: The system handles gold purchases without an accompanying sale on the receipt. The value is recorded, and the payout is managed securely and in a controlled manner via the administration. Compliance with anti-money laundering legislation is ensured by making payouts via bank transfer.

Behind the scenes, the system automatically ensures that gold inventory levels are precisely adjusted for both weight and value, while simultaneously posting the entries to the correct accounts. This minimizes manual data entry in the accounting department and ensures complete, real-time control over the gold inventory.
